Setup ServiceNow OAuth

⚠ This page describes how to properly set up ServiceNow OAuth authentication in order to use it with AssetTrack for ServiceNow mobile devices.

Install OAuth registry

  1. Download the OAuth_Application_Registry.xml.
  2. In the ServiceNow instance navigate to System OAuth > Application Registry.
  3. Right click the a column header of the list of application registries and select Import XML.

  4. Select the dowloaded OAuth_Application_Registry.xml file and upload.

  5. The AssetTrack client will now use the ServiceNow OAuth.

 

Update the client secret

  1. In the ServiceNow instance navigate to System OAuth > Application Registry.
  2. Open the AMI AssetTrack record.
  3. Delete the value of the Client Secret text box and click update to generate a new secret.

  4. Open the AMI AssetTrack record.
  5. Click the lock icon next to the Client Secret text box and the value will be displayed below.

     
  6. Copy the value.
  7. Navigate to AssetTrack > Configuration > Properties
  8. Enter the copied value to the text box label Client secret for oauth and click save.

  9. The AssetTrack application is now ready to use the new client secret.

 

Update the oauth_entity table

  1. In the ServiceNow instance navigate to System Definition > Tables.
  2. Search for table name 'oauth_entity'.
  3. Click the row for the oauth_entity table.
  4. With Accessible from set to 'All application scopes' check the Can read checkbox and click update.
